I’ve been a documentary filmmaker and editor for 10 years now. My appreciation to the materiality of image is forged from my time as a mechanical engineer in camera design. Even now, momentum and movement still underscore my work, paired nicely with a fierce creative practice of exploratory analog creation.
Growing up as a traveller moving from place to place, my filmmaking journey began when living in Shanghai. Since then, my interests as an artist have taken me to Vietnam, Pakistan, and most notably my motherland of Taiwan. My focus now is to create work that offers intimate portraits to different ways of being, especially to offer an alternative to hegemonic Western schools of thought. For me, this exists where science and culture interact, and in amplifying voices of the makers who care and continue to care.
