Sizzle Reel

Objectives: show the diversity of activities and experiences to be found in Bath, VA. Add to the library of existing videos, update some of them with a modern feel, and showcase other activities that are available in Bath County.

The 60-second video brings together several scenarios into one cohesive piece which outlines the highlights of Bath County. Option to add narration or just music over footage.

example scenario cut:

Aerial: morning mist moves over mountains at sunrise.

A couple hikes towards the top of a viewpoint in the early morning light.

Two middle-aged women sit together in the hot springs, the water steaming up around them.

Aerial: A beautiful hotel stands surrounded by mountains and trees.

The same women enjoy wine and a beautifully plated meal in the luxury hotel.

Aerial: seen from the top down, a car winds through a forest road.

The couple from the hike now paddle together on a double kayak in the middle of Lake Moomaw. The sun shines down and the soft sound of paddling and splashing can be heard.

Aerial: the camera pulls up and away to show the kayak in the middle of the lake

A family rides horses along a trail, laughing together.

The family sits together in a pristine mountain field with a picnic.

Back at the hotel bar, draft beers flows freely.

The two women enjoy a concert at the Garth Newel Music Center.

The couple arrive at the top of the hike to see a stunning vista. They sit together at the top, taking in the view.

Aerial: the camera pulls out from the two of them to reveal the mountain lanscape.

Cut to logo and end screen.

Documentary Cut

Taking all of the footage from the sizzle reel, the documentary cut relies on additional interviews from local business owners, residents, tourists, and experts of the region to create a 3-4 minute video cut which dives a little deeper into the spirit of Bath County and all of the experiences to be found here. If this kind of video is of interest, I would love to discuss the idea further when we meet!
